Editorial Policy
Our goal is simple: guides you can follow step by step, with nothing invented.
Accuracy
- Facts that can change (menu paths, prices, app features and privacy policies) are checked against official sources, linked, and dated.
- If we can't verify something, we leave it out or say it varies. We would rather say "check your phone's Camera settings" than publish a path we haven't confirmed.
- General advice (light, angles, poses, editing values) is labeled as a starting point, not a rule.
How guides are made
We use AI writing and design tools to help draft text and produce illustrations. Every guide is reviewed and edited by a person before it's published, and every fact that can change is checked against an official source. Our illustrations are original, contain no photos of real people, and don't use brand logos.
Independence
We decide what to cover and what to recommend. Advertisers and app makers don't review or approve our content before it's published. Our approach to affiliate links is explained in our affiliate disclosure.
Updates
Every guide shows a "last updated" date. We revisit guides when phones or apps change in ways that affect the advice, and when readers report problems.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, email hello@chatselfies.com with the page and what's wrong. We'll check it against the official source. If it's wrong, we'll fix it and update the page date. Significant corrections are noted on the page.
Safety and respect
We don't publish advice that encourages editing or sharing images of other people without their consent, or using AI to create misleading images of real people.
